I Don't Have Anything To Wear

“I don’t have anything to wear” is a modern refrain as distasteful as “I’m starving to death”.  We have plenty to wear! Keerthana Johnson-Lal insightful essay, “Why do we continue to buy from and support fast fashion brands”, points a harsh spotlight on the numerous negative impacts of current clothing manufacturing. Johnson-Lal investigates the damages to our environment as well as the abuse of labor worldwide. The best solution to this problem would be for us all, to consume less. Not just in clothing but in all ways. We are currently over consuming our planet. A temporary, short term solution, would be an increase in rec ycling clothing. We need a way for recycled clothing to transform from “second hand” to “vintage”. Austin and Laura Storm opened a vintage clothing store, The Storm Cellar, in Moscow Idaho in 2010.
